An empty field can be the correct data
Hong Kong does not use a postcode system. The UPU’s Hong Kong addressing sheet illustrates a destination using apartment, building, street and district details without a postcode. A universal form that requires a US-style ZIP for every destination therefore needs more than a length check.
AddressSample keeps the Hong Kong postal value empty and shows Not used in the interface. That label describes the empty value; it is not a postal code to paste into another form.

Choose Hong Kong in the destination control first: some forms change their required fields after that selection. If the postal field remains mandatory, check that website’s published instructions or ask its support team what the integration expects.
A placeholder accepted by one website is not automatically a postal code, and another website may reject it. For real deliveries, keep the recipient’s confirmed address and follow the carrier’s instructions. Do not replace building or district details with a made-up number.
Keep the rest of the address structured
For your own form, preserve flat and floor details, building information, street information and the locality or district in appropriate fields. The UPU guide provides a postal example; your application may split the same components across several controls. Test the final assembled address rather than assuming that every destination follows the US layout.
Our generator uses sourced locality and district labels with fictional delivery details. Its district field follows the dataset’s grouping and does not certify a particular building. A result is useful for layout and data-flow tests, not proof of a deliverable location.
Check the export as well as the screen
Save a Hong Kong sample and export it as JSON. Its zip value should remain an empty string. In CSV, the postal column should be empty; a display label such as Not used should not become the stored value.
When building a form, switch between US and Hong Kong test cases, then inspect validation and saved data. A hidden postal input should not retain the preceding US ZIP. The AddressSample Hong Kong postal-copy control is disabled because there is no postcode to copy.
